Marty Ackermann
With over 47 years of real estate experience, Marty Ackermann is a 2008 recipient of the RE/MAX Lifetime Achievement Award. Also a member of RE/MAX’s Hall of Fame, Chairman and Platinum Club’s many times over the last 27 years she has been affiliated with RE/MAX International. Marty has been a Top 10 Individual and/or Team Performer every year of her 27 year career with RE/MAX.
Born in Minden, Nebraska Marty accidentally discovered her true passion for real estate at a young age. She often accompanied her grandfather on appointments as he negotiated major farm purchases as a real estate agent in Minden for over 25 years. Prior to real estate, Marty held several positions at the Continental Can Company, including Human Resources. Marty also attend Cosmetology School, and then finally The Ohio State University.
While traveling the world as a military brat with her Air Force father, Marty lived in places such as Germany, Belgium, and Switzerland. The family of 9 finally (Marty is the oldest of 7 children) decided to plant their roots in Columbus, OH when Marty was around 12 years old. Residing in Columbus OH for over 50 years now, Marty raised her son and daughter (and now business partners) in Gahanna, OH beginning in 1976 and eventually migrated to New Albany around 2005.
As an investor/owner in both residential, land and commercial real estate since 1974, Marty understands the need for real estate to serve as a portion of a familly’s retirement portfolio. Owning property can have a long-term impact on one’s net worth and ability to gain income in retirement years.
Therefore Marty’s strong suit in aggressive negotiating at the time of purchase creates a long-term impact for her clients with regards to purchasing power and property value. Marty sells residential and commercial real estate, and has a extreme fondness for farms and land sales and development.
